Dr. Karl Koerner’s dental treatment involves oral surgery including impacted wisdom teeth, bone grafts, implants, and other similar procedures.  The majority of his patients are asleep when he works on them.  This anesthesia service is performed by a licensed nurse anesthetist and relieves any anxiety that might otherwise be associated with procedures.
Dr. Koerner attended the University of Washington for dental school.  He is not an oral surgeon, but received surgery training during the years he spend in the U.S. Army.  He has a Masters in Education and teaches oral surgery to dentists somewhere in the country (dental schools or for dental organizations) once or twice a month.
Each year, Dr. Koerner performs humanitarian dentistry on children and the elderly in China.  He speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese from his years in Taiwan as a young missionary and later as a mission president.  He and his wife Carol have five married children with a number of grandchildren in Utah and Texas that they try to visit regularly.  Dr. Koerner enjoys the out-of-doors and being physically active.  Photography is an avid hobby.
